Most are aware of the serious effects of drinking too much alcohol, too often. Alcohol is after all, toxic and the term ‘intoxication’ (from the Latin toxicum meaning poison) is used for good reason, so maybe the Romans knew a thing or two about alcohol. A common response from people why they drink too much is to feel better yet the curious thing about alcohol is it’s actually a depressant. Alcohol gets to work on your nervous system and the brain’s motor functions depressing your inhibitions helping you to feel more upbeat and lively on one hand, while simultaneously lowering emotional control on the other. This explains why perfectly normal people under the influence of alcohol behave irrationally; some become angry and aggressive.
Modern living creates many pressures to drink more alcohol and it’s never been easier to fall into a pattern of excessive drinking without noticing. Hangovers increase motivation to stop but after a couple of days the memory fades and once you begin arguing with yourself about whether or not to have a drink you are lost. That’s because conscious thoughts are overridden by subconscious compulsion. But the good news is there are things you can do to regain control.
Hypnosis helps in a number of ways:
You will be surprised how quickly you notice the benefits; sleeping better, more rested, feeling fitter, your skin will improve and stop gaining weight as your body repairs the damage. You can enjoy life again in the knowledge you can take or leave alcohol and if you do, it’s in moderation.
