Binge eating can start in a variety of ways, even on the rebound from dieting and can affect anyone, men and women alike. Some call it ‘comfort eating’ to make themselves feel better but in actual fact the over eating more often than not makes the person feel worse. So in a sense binge eating is ‘discomfort’ eating. For some binge eating is associated with another activity such as watching TV thus creating a habit.
